My Miss BC journey has been so empowering. Through pageant weekend I met so many inspirational women. Together we shared our crowns with girls, spread messages about empowerment, got handcuffed and put in the back of a police car while campaigning for Cops for Cancer!

Miss BC empowered me to share my voice and this became an important component of my platform. Whether it was at schools, youth centers or through mentoring with Big Brothers Big Sisters, I spoke about empowerment, self-confidence and self-love with others.

I am currently in my 3rd year of the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Degree program at UFV! This year I completed my practicum with the Mission RCMP, which has strengthened my passion for bringing diverse practices to policing in our community. I hold a place on the Dean’s List, which further motivates me to pursue my Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. My career goals are centered around policing.

Miss BC is a program that has changed my life and year after year I find myself back at Chief Sepass Theater. I would recommend this program to girls of all ages, it has empowered me to not only speak my mind and my heart, but to encourage other women to do the same thing! Alone we are only so mighty, but the power of sisterhood can take us far beyond our goals and aspirations!!
