My year as Miss Teen BC 2016-17 was overall amazing and filled with remarkable experiences. My goal was to bring awareness about the deaf/hard of hearing and other disabilities to my community. I was able to inspire many deaf and hard of hearing individuals with my story and make them believe they are no less than everybody else. I have been going to interviews to get my story out as a hard of hearing individual, attending charity events, helping out at the Children's Hearing and Speech Centre of BC, and so much more.
Being part of all those things definitely made me the person I am today. I met so many amazing people who have completely inspired me with their stories. I will forever treasure this year in my heart. I want to thank my pageant sisters, friends, sponsors, family, the Miss BC staff, and my amazing parents who were part of this amazing journey with me and supported me through everything.
Being part of this journey has taught me a lot of valuable lessons, self-growth, and memories I’ll forever cherish and hold on to for the rest of my life. It's hard to know that my reign as Miss Teen BC 2016-17 is coming to an end. On July 3rd I’ll be crowing the next Miss Teen BC and I’m so excited for her to be part of a life changing journey.
